THE TRUE THANKSGIVING

“ Although the fig tree shall not blossom, yet, I will rejoice in the Lord…”

Habakkuk 3:17-18

Thanksgiving is an expression of heart of gratitude to God for His doings in our lives, it is showing deep appreciation to the Almighty Father for His strange hands upon us, It is essentially offering to the Lord glory, honour, majesty, adoration and blessings due unto His name for His marvelous works in our lives.

What thanksgiving actually does is to let God know that He is worthy, faithful, true to His Words (Plans and Promises). It is to tell Him that He Is a great God, a great King who has not let His people fall, faill nor faint in the race of life irrespective of life's challenges.

There are 3 kinds of believers on the planet earth. The 1st set of believers are those who only thank God for the things God did in the past.

The 2nd set of believers are those who only appreciate God for the things God is doing presently In their lives, business, family and career etc.

The 3rd set of believers are those who lay it to heart to think on God's faithfulness as regards their past, present and His glorious plans for their future.

Beloved, the truth of the matter is that the true thanksgiving transcends our past it covers our present and future.

If you are the type that thank God for only the things of the past certainly, you cannot enjoy the best of God in the present time and peradventure you ore the type that only appreciates God for the things He does at the moment, you can't equally amount to anything in the future.

You must learn how to give thanks to God for all He has done, all that He is doing and all that He will yet do and that is the true thanksgiving!

Do you know something? Many people at the end of each year like this, go to the long list they have made to see what and what have been accomplished and things they haven't seen, they never even laid it to heart to thank God for the things He has done for them even the gift of life.

Beloved, if you desire to go far in destiny, if your coming years must be fruitful, peaceful and colourful you must lay it to heart to give thanks unto God for all He has done irrespective of what you have not seen.

If you can go round your neighbourhood, among your colleagues, friends, and family members even your church members you will discover that not all their dreams and desires have been fully accomplished and achieved. Is God not capable to bring them to pass? God forbid!

Some delays and disappointments are divine, they are purposed so your life and destiny may be colourful, restful and peaceful at the end.

What you don't have now will soon become many very soon if only you will wait on God and thank Him for ever/thing. Your true rising is in thanking the Almighty from the depth of your heart.

You may have dreamt and planned that in 2007, you will get married, yours could be that the long awaited fruit of the womb will at last come this year 2007 but nothing has come forth.

Yours could be to complete your building project but upon all your efforts, the project remains the same. Possibly, your hope has been lifted that at least one out of all the Interviews you attended this year will yield a job for you but all to no avail.

Let me tell you this, no matter what you have achieved or not this year, never you stop giving thanks and glory to God, The day you stop thanking Him is the day your thank of blessings will start leaking until you are left with nothing.

Prophet Habbakkuk is a man I draw from when it comes to this side of Bible teaching. Nothing was working yet he kept thanking God, he kept extolling and exalting His majesty and at the end, God flung him to his high places in destiny. Habbakkuk 3:17-19.

Do you know something? God con visit you even now! Anything can happen between now and 31st of December, His strange miracle can visit you.

You just keep on thanking Him for all He has done for you since the year began and while you are busy doing that not minding the challenge in your business, relationship, marriage, finance, academic, health, ministry suddenly, a surprise package will land and you will burst into a song "Come and join me sing Halleluyah, Jehovah Jireh has done me well."

In conclusion, there was this musician at a certain function entertaining people with his folk songs.

While he sang, praised and appeased his fans, they will turn out and spray him voluminously. But there was this particular one of his fans who loved him so much and whenever this musician-come across that his fan at any function, he had an assurance that what the man will spray him is more than enough for that function.

This musician sang, praised and appeased that man. He used many pleasing and praising words to bring him to himself so the man con spray as usual but lo and behold, from dust till down that the function lasted, that man never stood and sprayed. Although, he was dancing and confirming every praise and songs to him.

The musician and his band members got confused and greatly disappointed because their expectation had been marred.

Do you know something? Shortly after the function, the; man called the musician and handed the key to a brand new choiced car to him. What a surprise!

As you keep on appreciating God, thanking Him mostly for who He is and what He can do which is not limited to a year calendar as some thought suddenly and surprisingly, something great which you least expected will be handed down from heaven to you.
