YOU CAN OVERCOME THAT TEMPTATION

YOU CAN OVERCOME THAT TEMPTATION!

“God...will not suffer you to be tempted above that which ye are able” ,1Cor.10:13

What is Temptation?

Temptation is an invincible force that propels a man to do something abnormal. Temptation occurs when a man yields to something that attracts and persuades his or her senses

Reasons 1: Why You Must Overcome Temptation

Reason No 1 - To Preserve Your Life

The Bible says "It is appointed unto a man to die once and after death; Judgment" Hebrews 9:27. Life has no repetition, life has no ploy back; life has no duplicate. Once temptation overwhelms and consumes a man; the end result is death. Temptation has sent many to the grave expressly because it has no regards for anybody.

Many years ago, one of my friends in those days was under a strange affliction; life was a burden to him;

He had no peace at all. I saw him walking wobbly; he couldn't walk normally and anytime he wanted to ease off himself (urinate}, he did it in pains with shouting. One day, I was seriously inquisitive and asked for the cause of his predicament and the young man showed me his manhood. What I saw that day was unimaginable! His manhood had been perforated, rotten and smelly. And this was a guy I used to advise time without number to take it easy with life but his youthful strength was pushing him to do unworthy things. From that day forward, 1 hated fornication the more. Nobody told me that fornication is deadly. 1 quickly learnt from what I saw.

Reason No 2: - To Retain Honour And Dignity Upon Your Life

Friends, you are a child of Destiny sent to this world to radiate the glory of Heaven. You're decorated with honour and dignity such that must compel the attention of your world. To retain your matchless honour and dignity therefore; there is a conscious need to overcome any form of temptation that may come your way. The devil knows that you have been released for a beautiful and colourful destiny, he will want to rob you of your place in Destiny, he will be tempting you to do one wickedness or another just to lose your colour and beauty in life.

Reason No 3; - To Preserve Your Destiny.

Romans 3:23 has this to say. "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God"

Sin is what makes the glory of God to disappear in a man's life and when the glory of God departs in a man's life, his destiny is in total ruin. It is therefore high time for every child of Destiny to brace up to the responsibility of keeping his or her own place in destiny to avoid transference of position and unction. When one consciously overcomes temptation, his destiny is preserved.

The first step to overcome any temptation:

Child of Destiny, it is imperative for you to really know and understand the point at which your own shoe pinches you. I mean you must discover very fast without guessing what makes you to fall easily. Until you know yourself and what tempts you most, to try to overcome temptation will be difficult.

Beloved, every person has his or her own weak point. There is nobody on this planet earth who is perfect. Everyone is at the mercy of temptation but at the same time. one could easily come out of temptation if his or her own is well Identified. Problem known is problem solved. Until any situation is well diagnosed, solution cannot be proffered.

In Mark chapter 10 beginning from verse 1 7 there was a man who ran to meet with Jesus Christ and asked Him what exactly could he do to inherit eternal life. Jesus then began to tell him!

“... Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.” Mark 10:19.

Then this man replied master that: all the things He mentioned were never point of concern to him even from his youth that he had observed to keep them at bay. (Paraphrased) But Jesus said something worth of examining;

He said:

... ONE THING THOU LACKEST.. Mark1 0:21.

The young man was unable to really know and understand what he lacked. Yet adultery was under him, stealing wasn't his weakness, false witness, fraud and disobedience and dishonoring of parents were never his weak point but he lacked something paramount to his Destiny and because he did not know it, the Bible tells us that:

...he was sad at that saving, and went away grieved: for he had great possession. Mark 1 0:22.

Friends, if you don't want to be sad and grieved all through life, get to know and understand what exactly flings you to the realms of temptation. Yours could be gossiping, I know my own. Yours could be stealing, adultery, fornication, murmuring, smoking, pride, laziness, anger or whatever It is only you that knows where the shoe pinches you the most.

This reminds me of a funny but full of message story I was told while putting this book together. I was told that there were three servants of God, Pastors I supposed, on a certain day, they were all together sharing happenings in their different ministries. And suddenly, one of them asked for the assistance of others to join him pray because his weak point is adultery. He said any woman his eyes ever come across must be crossed. The second one also lamented and also sought for the assistance of others in prayer. He said his own weakness is money, that any money he sees in the church must be diverted for his personal use. He said he has no regard for church money. Their third man also lamented and said his own is that anything he sees or hears must be noised abroad. He was a gossiper of highest order and told his friends that even what they have told him will be heard by all and sundry. What a humorous story?

The key thing here is that every man or woman is yet to be perfect. Please let me warn you, don't because of the story you read here begin to look down on any man of God if you must not be visited with leprosy such that cripples destiny. No matter what any man of God is doing, you are not the one to judge him. I just decided to add the story to this write up because it is in line with what I am expounding in this book it could even be a framed story but the story is to further buttress the fact that every one no matter the position or unction has a point of weakness which can be overcome if discovered.
