| ASKING THAT GUARANTEES ANSWERS
‘'Ye ask and receive not because ye ask amiss'' James 4:3
Asking, in the Holy Bible means prayer. Matthew 7:7 says "Ask and it shall be given" Psalms 2:8 also reads "Ask of me and I shall give heathen for thy inheritance and the uttermost part of the earth for thy possession". (See also Zechariah 10:1)
Asking, in other words, prayer is a channel through which we receive our heart desires from our maker- the God Almighty.
Certain things in a man's life may remain unachievable and unattainable except he tackles it through prayers.
Jesus Christ - our Saviour said in Mark 9:29 "This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting".
Apostle James in the book of James 4:2 also said "Ye have not because ye ask not"
Prayer, is unarguably imperative in getting ones desires be it maritally, business wise, academically, career wise, health wise etc.
However, it not all those who engage in prayer get results as they desire, their asking don't generate answers. One may ask, "Has God stopped answering prayer? Far be it that God should do wickedly! He answers prayers always and faithfully. Psalms 65:2 testifies to this.
If God is still in the business of answering people's prayer, what then is responsible for some people not to get answers to their prayers?
Apostle James further said in James 4:3 that ye ask and receive not because ye ask amiss" Asking amiss is what is responsible for people not to get answers to their prayers. Asking that guarantees answers must not be asked amiss.
At this juncture, I will be showing you steps you must follow before answers attend to your prayers. Here they are:
You must ask as a Child of God
In the Lord's Prayer, our Lord Jesus enjoined us to pray thus "Our Father.... In other words. God must be your Father while you His Son or daughter before He can answer your prayers.
If you are asking God certain things in prayer and you are not yet a born again child of God- such thing may never be given unto you because nothing connects you to God. God knows those who are His children and those are the people He gives attention to whenever they need Him.
You Must Ask the Will of God
Asking the will of God is very crucial in getting our heart desires. Many pray and never receive answer to their prayers simply because they don't ask according to the will of God.
Hear this, no matter how dearest something is to you, if it is not in line with the will of God for your life forget it. God is not a wicked God and it is not that He cannot give us whatsoever we desire from Him but it has to be something that is in conformity with His will (His plans, purpose) for our lives.
Many people are frustrated in life, in business career etc simply because their innate desires are very far from the original plans of God for their lives. Any prayer you pray outside the will of God will bring you to stagnation and truncate your destiny.
Do you know something? Asking outside the will of God makes you a dictator before God and when you begin to dictate for God for what you won't even get, you end up in untold frustration.
Let God choose for you whom to marry, let God be the one leading you to a career or a certain business and you will see how results will be following you. You should know that what God doesn't give never last!
You must ask in Faith
Asking that guarantees answers is such that is asked in faith. Faith is actually acting on every instruction in the word of God. It is demonstration of ones trust-in God and His Word.
Asking in faith is acting beyond human senses to get at your desired results. Faith spurs God into action. Prayer of faith convinces God to know that we are absolutely dependent on Him. Prayer of faith actually sees results before they are physically manifested.
You must be patient to receive an answer:
Asking that guarantees answers is such that you wait patiently on God to do that which He has promised to do in your life.
Anything God does in His own time ends up beautiful, colourful and glorious. Impatience rubs man of the very best of God. Never hurry God to do anything for you. Learn to hold on until your prayer comes through.
Talking of father Abraham, the Bible said in Hebrews 6:15 that after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.
If you will be patient, you too will receive answers to all your prayers. This is your season of answered prayer. |
